The Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC), an affiliate of Dubai’s Endowment and Minors’ Trust Foundation (Awqaf Dubai), is setting new global benchmarks in charitable innovation through 10 pioneering endowment projects.
From distributing fresh bread to labourers, to launching the region’s first endowment bonds, MBRGCEC is reshaping the role of endowment and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a world leader in sustainable social impact.
Reaching critical sectors — health, education, food, and social development — the projects are having a direct positive impact on the quality of life for individuals and low-income families, while fostering resilience and dignity within communities.
These achievements reflect the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who has called for endowment organisations to work hand in hand with governments in driving community development and addressing public needs.
They also highlight Awqaf Dubai’s commitment to using endowments as humanitarian and developmental tools that keep pace with modern needs while consolidating Dubai’s leadership in innovative endowment practices.
Innovations That Redefine Endowment
MBRGCEC’s efforts involve the ‘Sukuk Al Waqf’ (endowment bonds), which are the first in the region to allow individuals and institutions to deposit funds into saving accounts, with their returns being channelled towards charitable initiatives focused on orphan care, healthcare, and education.
This format ensures the perpetuity of giving and fortifies community building. Other notable initiatives include the ‘Lawyers’ Endowment’, whereby prominent Emirati lawyers deliver free legal consultations to individuals who cannot afford legal counsel, and the ‘University Seat Endowment’, which provides students from low-income families with academic opportunities.

Some of the other projects include the ‘Table at a Restaurant Endowment’, under which people can dedicate restaurant endowment tables to feed others, and the ‘Real Estate Developers’ Endowment’, which involves convincing developers to donate real estate units to provide funds for different endowment activities and charity events that contribute to the community.
The ‘Sabeel Bread’ project provides fresh bread to low-income families and workers and ‘ElMadrasah.com’ provides technology solutions that aid in online education for poor children. The ‘Ataa’ clothing endowment collects second-hand clothes and domestic items and proceeds are utilized for creating sustainable endowments which aid in funding education, healthcare, and charity in general.
The ‘Hotel Endowment’ initiative gives a complimentary hotel room to orphans, and the recently introduced ‘Dates Endowment’ initiative harvests excess dates and distributes them together with educational pamphlets regarding palm trees and dates in the UAE.
Transforming Giving into Sustainable Impact
His Excellency Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of Awqaf Dubai, confirmed the pioneering endowments released by MBRGCEC over the past few years reflect the vision of the leadership to render endowment a strategic facilitator of community development. “We are dedicated to creating sustainable endowment projects that are adaptive and creative, supporting vital needs in healthcare, education, and food.”.
This maintains continuity in providing and widens the scope of recipients to cover all sectors of society,” he added.
He further stated: “We continue to implement distinctive initiatives that affirm our determination to actualize Dubai’s vision of making endowment a catalyst for sustainable development. We intend to make it an economic asset that benefits all members of society, further solidifying Dubai’s position as an international hub for humanitarian and endowment work.”
