In a move that mirrors Dubai Customs’ plan to enhance the business environment towards the realization of the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, Dubai Customs organized an extended cooperative meeting involving traders’ representatives and strategic partners.
His Excellency Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC); His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs; His Excellency Abdullah bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World in the GCC; and a panel of experts, specialists, and stakeholders were present at the meeting.
The session touched on improving supply chain efficiency and operational performance to enable the flow of commercial shipments. The session also heard proposals from traders to bolster the commercial sector.
The session also involved prolonged discussion on vision exchange, role integration, and improvement of customs clearance and inspection mechanisms.
The session discussed the initiatives of PCFC to innovate and establish customs and logistics services along the best global practices.
The services amplify commercial activities, raise operational profits, and decreasing time according to the latest digital technology and artificial intelligence software.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Busenad said: “We are working within an integrated plan to unify efforts and enhance coordination with DP World and the entities affiliated with the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation to enrich the experience of traders, promote their business growth, and contribute to achieving Dubai’s vision to become one of the top three economic cities in the world by 2033, in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
He underscored that Dubai Customs continues its sustainable efforts to facilitate trade and enrich the customer experience. Achieving this goal requires enhancing integration between institutions, simplifying procedures, upgrading digital infrastructure, and responding quickly and effectively to the needs of the business community.
His Excellency continued: “Dubai Customs reflects this vision through its continuous endeavors. This meeting is one of a series of regular meetings with business and trade organizations to facilitate the flow of shipments, increase the value of Dubai’s external trade, and reinforce its position as an international hub for trade and logistics services.”
Dr. Abdulla Busenad also clarified that the public-private sector strategic partnership is an essential pillar in realizing sustainable development and increasing the effectiveness of government performance.
Dubai Customs has been eager to build an integrated vision for this partnership, which boosts the appeal of foreign investments in commercial and logistics sectors as the business-friendly environment and procedures are among the best in the world.
In the same line, several traders stated that they were pleased with this open communication, commending the initiative of Dubai Customs in bringing relevant government and private parties together to improve operations.
