In a step that reflects its unwavering commitment to building a more cohesive and aware society, the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai has announced the launch of the ‘Community Malis Consultant’ initiative. This pioneering platform opens its doors to all members of the community, providing an interactive and advisory space that aligns with Dubai’s vision as a global leader in quality of life.
The project seeks to establish a secure and meaningful platform for discussion and communication, guided by a team of specially selected licensed psychological and social professionals, in order to provide direct advice and counsel on life issues.
The objective is to allow citizens to gain access to specialised advice that enables them to make informed choices and head in the right direction, while putting forward the disclaimer that its function is only that of professional consultancy and counseling, and not psychological therapy.
Launched under the banner of the ‘Year of Community 2025’ initiative and as part of Dubai Social Agenda 33, the project looks to promote social values of unity and cohesion, and reimagine neighbourhoods as dynamic centres where people can come together to share experience, learn new skills, and improve their overall quality of life.

The meetings will address universal family-related issues like parenting styles, personality types of children, building marital relationships, psychological conditions and their cure, stress coping, and chronic diseases.
By addressing these issues through the discussions, the CDA aims to provide all segments of society with useful tools to cope with contemporary challenges, while inculcating greater self-realization, more cohesive family ties, and healthier social lives.
The CDA highlighted that the ‘Community Majlis Consultant’ programme is not a series of standard counselling sessions but an open, people-focused forum for discussion, where family concerns and individual concerns are discussed in a culture of privacy respect and participation values. The programme brings back the true Emirati majlis as a pillar of social interaction and discussion but restores it in contemporary form to meet the needs of the times.
Reem Obaid Al Awabed, Community Development Authority Director of Social Programs, stated: “The launch of this initiative is a demonstration of our conviction that all individuals in society need to be listened to and empowered, and that honest communication based on knowledge is the best method to establish stable families and a more harmonious society.”.

Through these sessions, we aim to turn the challenges into opportunities for development and growth, and create a culture of support for one another that has been a hallmark of our Emirati community for so long.”
By undertaking this project, CDA hopes to build confidence and open new doors of hope, where adversity is turned into an opportunity for growth on the individual and family level, stability is reinforced within the home, and cohesion is strengthened across the broader community. Every question is a step closer to solutions, and every consultation a gateway to a more balanced and thriving life.
Clear Message
This program sends a clear message: authentic investment starts with hearing what concerns people and respecting what they need. A unified and contented society can only flourish if all individuals and families have access to safe venues for expression and support.
With the launch of this initiative, the CDA reiterates the strength of Dubai being the unity of its social fabric, while remaining the embodiment of the vision of Dubai to be the best place in the world to work and live, a society whose future is based on stability, wellbeing, and happiness.
