Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center announced the launching of “Tamrat Al Bayt” Cup as part of the next year’s edition of the Dubai Date Festival 2026.
The initiative aims to reinforce the social and symbolic significance of the palm tree in the Emirati heritage and foster the deeper community engagement with it.
The announcement was made during a press conference that was held today at the Center’s headquarters, attended by H.E. Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmook, CEO of the Center, along with several department heads and the representatives of the regional and local media outlets.
A Unique New Category
During a press conference, H.E. Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmook unveiled the introduction of a unique and new competition category – the “Tamrat Al Bayt” Cup – that starts from the upcoming season.
This category is dedicated specifically to home-grown dates cultivated and cared for in a private residence, allowing the participants enough time to prepare for the competition.
In addition, the Dubai Date Festival features a high-end auction of the finest palm tree varieties, in collaboration with the Emirates Auction. That will run throughout seven-day events. This year’s edition includes a new addition to a new competition that is dedicated to rare and highly sought-after “Hilwat Dubai” variety.
