Chicken Shawarma Recipe

Shawarma chicken isa Middle Eastern plate served atop a classic dish of stacked chickenslices marinated on a rotisserie vertical, slowly cooked, and shavedinto thin pieces.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5–2 lbs boneless chicken thighs
  • 3 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3-4 pcs garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin, coriander, paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine allmarinade ingredients. Add the chicken and coat thoroughly. Marinate for aminimum of 4 hours.
  • Pan fry, oven roast, orgrill the chicken until cooked through and charred.
  • Rest, slice very thinly.
  • Serve in a pita or bowlwith your preferred topping and sauce.
